Who we are
My family has a rich tradition in this trade starting with my grandfather, Robert Villanueva Sr. He started as a tile contractor in Houston, TX in the 1960s. During this era tile installation was completed by skilled Craftsman using traditional mudset methods that predated the existence of thinset mortar. My Grandfather eventually settled in Somerville, TX and was recognized as one of the few Hispanic owned businesses serving the Bryan/College Station area at the time. A hardworking attitude and discipline were definitely instilled in all of his children including my dad. Unfortunately Grandpa passed away at the young age of 44 leaving some pretty big boots to fill. His legacy would continue on as my dad and three uncle's (Robert Jr, Roland, Richard) all continued into the tile business.
My start in this trade was similar to my dad's, just a kid wanting to mimic his father. As young as 5 years old I was wearing my own pair of boots and tagging along to job sites. Throughout my childhood I spent summers, weekends and holidays grouting, making cuts, & cleaning as a tile helper. After serving 4 years in the United States Marine Corps, I received an Honorable Discharge. It was fitting that I landed right back into this trade I grew up in. I was lucky enough to learn from all of my uncle's and my dad.
I eventually started this business and truly found my passion. I'm proud to be the third generation of Tile artisans in my family. I will proudly continue the legacy started by my grandfather years ago with my own son. I am a generational Craftsman.
